Although this ebook is scanned from old documentation of Oak Ridge's Reactor but this is a very useful material to know about Nuclear Reactor. You will find brief explanations about Oak Ridge stuffs. This book explains about The Oak Ridge Research Reactor, Low-Intensity Reactor and Oak Ridge Graphite Reactor. The Oak Ridge was a place that first fission production had been esthablished and a lot of experiments had been done to improve the nuclear technology.
This documentation explains the characteristics of the ORR, LITR and OGR and their experiments. You will find good and brief pictures of detalied design of those reactors.

Oak Ridge Research Reactor = ORR
This reactor uses MTR-type, enriched Uranium FE and berylium reflectors in a 7x9-elements rectangular lattice with moderation and cooling provided by forcecirculation of demineralized water.
Low Intensity Testing Reactor = LITR
The LITR was the original hydraulic-test-mock-up of the MTR. It was converted to a training reactor for the operting staff of the MTR and subsequently has been used as a testing reactor. This reactor uses MTR-type, enriched uranium FE and berylium reflector pieces in a 5x9 elements laticce with moderation and cooling prvided by forcecirculation of demineralized water.
Oak Ridge Graphite Reactor = OGR
This reactor differs markedly from the ORR and LITR. The OGR is graphite-moderated, air cooled, natural-uranium-fueled reactor. The core and reflector is a 24-ft cube of graphite blocks contain horizontal fuel channels arrenged in rectangular grid with 8-in spacing.
